A Virgin ‘Whine’
![]()
Just for a change, I’m good and mad! This time it’s because of a survey company named “Valued Opinions” which today invited me to sign up for a sister survey site, “Research Now Business” in return for a £20.00 voucher for Virgin Wines. Ooh, yes please!
I received the voucher swiftly only to find that to take advantage of the offer, I would have to spend a minimum of almost £60.00 plus a delivery charge of about £7.00. One look at Virgin’s website shows far better offers with free delivery on initial orders. Why in tarnation can’t ”Research Now Business” simply send panellists £20.00 or a voucher to be spent at a wine retailer of their choice?
Adding insult to injury is the promise that if the voucher is not used, the money will instead go to the British Red Cross on the panellist’s behalf. Fellow Israel supporters will understand why this was the stage at which your reporter made no excuses about leaving the panel with immediate effect and told ‘Research Now Business’ to toddle off to Buffalo.

No, John. As an American, you most certainly would not understand. This is because Israel’s own emergency service, “Magen David Adom” (known as ‘M.D.A.’ or ‘Red Shield of David’) spent more than three-quarters-of-a-century - 1930-2006 - trying to gain entry to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and succeeded only after intense pressure from the U.S. So, once again, Israel is indebted to the USa for its support.
